German GEW.98 Mauser Bolt Action Rifle, #43aa, 8x57mm cal., 29.1'' barrel, blued finish, hardwood stock, inverted ''V'' front sight and adjustable Lange Vizier rear sight, no cleaning rod. Marked on receiver ring ''WAFFENFABRIK MAUSER A.-G. OBERNDORF A/N 1917''. Left side rail marked ''Gew.98.''. ''Crowned W'' and other inspection stamps on right side and underside of buttstock. Numbers match except bolt shroud. Condition overall is fair with metal surfaces showing patina and areas of rust. Stock shows multiple impact marks around the tang and receiver areas; wrist is cracked through to the right side. Bore is dark and rough with fair rifling. Safety lever is jammed in the fire position and needs to be repaired by a competent gunsmith. Bolt operates smoothly. No visible import marks. Est.: $400-$600. (C&R)
